JobWatch privacy policy
JobWatch is a personal job-search tool I built and run for my own applications. This page explains what it does with Google account data. Effective September 24, 2026.
What JobWatch is
JobWatch finds product roles that match my background, writes a tailored résumé and cover letter for the roles I choose, and can fill in an employer’s application form for me to review and submit. It is not offered to the public. The only Google account that signs in to it is my own.
Google data it uses
Gmail, send only. JobWatch sends me email about new matches and finished documents. It cannot read, search or delete mail.
Google Drive. JobWatch saves the résumé and cover letter it writes to a folder in my Drive, and reads them back when I ask it to apply for a role.
It does not access contacts, calendar, photos or any other Google data.
How the data is used and shared
Google data is used only to provide these features to me. A résumé or cover letter leaves my Drive only when I ask JobWatch to apply for a role; it is then uploaded to that employer’s application form, and nothing is submitted without my review. Google data is not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.
JobWatch’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Storage and security
The sign-in token and application records are kept in my own Google Cloud project, reachable only by the services that run JobWatch. The token is stored in Google Secret Manager, never in source code.
Keeping and deleting data
Documents stay in my Drive until I delete them. Access can be removed at any time from Google account permissions; JobWatch then can no longer send mail or reach Drive.
Questions and changes
