Roadmap & investment line
Claims automation, provider matching and a legacy claims integration replaced — explored through the documents and decisions.

The investment line across intake, provider quality, reporting and a separate platform migration.

Roadmap scope
The roadmap connects three separate projects through common decision principles. Above the line is the minimum recommended product scope; broader automation and platform adoption require their own evidence.

Above and below the line
Customer benefit and implementation exposure appear alongside the legal, compliance and safety considerations.
| Line / work | Customer benefit | Cost / dependency | Legal, compliance and safety lens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Above: validated forms and exceptions | Less avoidable manual handling | Vendor mapping and review capacity | Protect sensitive information |
| Above: provider API and normalization | Better identity resolution | Central data stewardship | Authorized purpose; no invented provider |
| Above: reconcile and report | Visible completion and exceptions | Downstream acknowledgements | Traceability and access control |
| Below: wider automation eligibility | Potential throughput | Requires observed defect evidence | Do not remove review blindly |
| Separate: platform replacement | Internally controlled integration capability | 0→1 build and consumer migration | Prove continuity before cutover |
Investment decision
I keep outcome attribution precise: more than 400,000 paper claims converted to EDI 837, an 80-person team redeployed and about $1M a year saved belong to the claims work. Provider resolution contributes latency and reporting improvements. Platform expansion depends on consumer parity, reconciliation and operating ownership. None of those investments can borrow another workstream’s success as its release evidence.
